Taylor Norrid

Name: Taylor Norrid

Where did you go to cosmetology school:
Ogle Hair Skin and Nails, Fort Worth

How many years have you been behind the chair: 4

What are your specialties?

I’m a Color Educator for Wella. So color is my first love! Up styling or styling of any sort is something I really enjoy!

How/when did you know being a hairstylist was your destiny?
I honestly knew as a child. I spent a lot of time playing with my hair and of course cutting Barbie’s. When I was younger I was more into athletics. My freshman year of College I starting tapping into my more artistic side. It has been a very challenging, emotional, all-encompassing process; but I’m so grateful for it.

Where do you find your creative inspiration as a stylist?
I’m really intrigued by texture. So nature and animals, for sure. Watching colors blend in the water or in the sky has always amazed me. I enjoy painting so I think my love for hair color stems from that.

Who is your mentor or inspiration in the industry?
Vidal Sassoon is an inspiration that can not go unnoticed or unappreciated. If you haven’t watched his documentary, you should. His passion for hair and his persistence for perfection speak volumes to me.

Describe yourself in three words:
Loyal, Ambitious, and a little goofy!

What is one goal you would like to accomplish in your lifetime?
It’s been a goal of mine for a while now to have a luxury car by the time I’m 30. Honestly, my goal is to create something so beautiful out of my life that my brain can’t wrap it’s head around just yet. But my heart feels like I’m going down the right path to that; whatever it may be!

Tell me something quirky about yourself that most people dont know?
I LOVE pizza with ketchup! I also have this thing where I HAVE to wash my body three times.

If you were an animal what would you be and why?
I would be an ELEPHANT! Suprise!! They have a good memory and hardly ever forget places they’ve been. They NEVER go down a path twice that proved to be dangerous. Elephants travel in packs and are extremely loyal. If their is a issue in nature the Elephants stay together and instincitvely join together and pass over anything that is in front of them or gets in their way. I love how beautiful and majestic they are.

Whats the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?
I ate an Iguana in Belize.

Whats your “life motto”? "
“If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”
